Associate Professor Jason O'Hara

Associate Professor (LM)

School of Design

Jason’s practice-based research sits at the intersection of design, photography, and moving image, exploring how visual storytelling and human-centred design can deepen our relationship with the environment and each other.

His passion for environmental work has taken him to extraordinary locations, including the remote Kermadec Islands and Antarctica, where he collaborates with science teams, often focusing on engaging audiences around climate change and sustainability.

Leveraging his expertise in behaviour change and branding, his creative practice delivers innovative outcomes across exhibitions, intermedia installations, and transmedia communications, working collaboratively with leading designers, artists, musicians, and dancers across Aotearoa.
